Breast reduction in Budapest


Goal: Volume reduction, breast lift, reshaping of large and flaccid breasts.

Surgical technique of breast reduction: There are many surgical techniques depending on the size and shape of breasts. Among them the most common are:

1. Inverted T technique which assumes circular scar around the areola, one vertical and one horizontal scar (hidden in the sub mammary line).

2. Vertical technique, with circular scar around the areola and one vertical scar with wrinkles which disappear within two months.

3. Peri areolar technique, only with one circular scar around the areola. This technique is not suitable for very large breasts.

Duration and anesthesia of breast reduction: 1.5 - 3 hours in general anesthesia

Recovery after breast reduction: Usual activities after 5 - 7 days. Stitches are removed after 2 weeks. Suspension bra is recommended for 1 month.

Rare complications: Temporary sensitivity loss, mild edema which passes in 2-4 weeks, possible small cysts in glandular tissue.
