Liposculpture of the Face

Goal: To reshape the facial contour and correct asymmetries, irregularities of the face, depressed perioral region and thin lips with autologous fat grafts.

Surgical technique of face liposculpture: With fine gauge cannulas (2-3 mm) through small stab incisions the necessary amount of fat is aspirated usually from the abdominal wall, gluteal or sub mental region. After preparation fat is injected in several subcutaneous and intramuscular layers.

Duration and anesthesia: Usually 30 - 45 minutes under local anesthesia.

Recovery after face liposculpture: One day after the procedure a patient should refrain from intensive facial movements, i.e. laughing or talking too much. Since the degree of fat resorption is unpredictable, the procedure is likely to be repeated after some time to obtain better and long-lasting result.

Rare complications: Mild edema and haematomas.
