Goal of the prominent ear surgery: To correct the shape and reduce the angle between the auricle and the head.
Surgical technique: Excision of the excessive retro auricular skin and remodeling of the auricular cartilage until normal contour and angle are achieved.
Duration and anesthesia of the prominent ear surgery: The procedure is performed under the local anesthesia and lasts about one hour for both sides.
Recovery after prominent ear surgery: Bandage around the head is removed after 2 week, stitches after two weeks.
Rare complications: Transitory swelling of the auricle due to hematoma.
